2012 Recipient – Collette Micks

The bilingual actress Collette Micks is a graduate of Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris and the University of Quebec in Montreal. A resident of Toronto, Ms. Micks has appeared in many TV, Film and Stage productions including ReGenesis, Degrassi, Sue Thomas; FBI, The Kennedys, Family Biz on YTV, To Distraction. Ms. Micks is transitioning into media cinematography/directing with the Web Series Redheads , a comedic Multi-Genre Web Series. Collette continues her Social Media Project www.steampunkgingers.com as we follow characters @beaconbalthazar and @pinkdelacroix.

A Métis/Algonquin filmmaker, actor, and curator, Michelle’s goal is to use film & new media as a tool for social change. She is interested in exploring how sound and image can transform space to create a visceral experience that lends itself to greater cultural awareness and understanding.
